Here is a list of our most commonly asked questions.
How do I find my tyre size?
The best way to find out which tyre size you need is to look at your current tyres. You will find the tyre size imprinted on the sidewall of the tyre. You are looking for three numbers (e.g. 205/50R16). The width of the tyre (i.e. 205), the sidewall (i.e. 50) and the rim size (i.e. 16). If you are purchasing an odd amount of tyres (i.e. 1 or 3) you will also need the load and speed rating (i.e. 98V) and finally, check if it is a run flat or specialist fitment for your type of car (i.e. MO for Mercedes).
What does the quoted price include?
All prices include:
* New tyre
* Mobile tyre fitting
* Tyre balance
* New valve
* Tyre disposal
What can I do if I've purchased the wrong tyre size?
If you have already placed an order and organised a fitting with the wrong sized tyre, then please contact us immediately. Our team may still be able to change the tyres we are sending out to you, but it's important that you call us straight away to amend the order. It is your responsibility to make sure that you ordered the correct size or fitment. A call out charge will be applied if our technicians cannot fit your tyre due to incorrect tyre size being supplied.
How do I pay?
We accept all major debit and credit cards including Visa, Mastercard and American Express. You can pay online, on our website, when you get to the basket after choosing your tyres.
The system didn't recognise my postcode, what can I do?
If you have entered a Christchurch postcode and it either wasn't recognised or stated that it is outside our service area. Please contact us via phone or email and we will be more than happy to help solve the issue.
How much space do you need to change a tyre?
We need at least one-meter clearance on each side of the car, this includes curbs. We also need to be able to park the fitting van near to where the vehicle is parked. Driveways or car parks are ideal, providing there is sufficient space around the vehicle.
The tyre brand I want isn't listed, what can I do?
Call our experts and we will do our best to supply your preferred brand. On the rare occasion where this is not available, our experts will recommend an alternative.
Do you charge for tyre disposal?
Tyre disposal is included in the quoted price. Easytyre gives a fully inclusive price every time. Unlike some other tyre fitting companies, we don't have any hidden charges. We dispose of tyres responsibly.
Can you just deliver my tyres?
No, our service includes fitting tyres. We don't operate a delivery only service.
When should my tyres be replaced?
A tyre should be replaced when 3mm or less of the tread is remaining; the legal limit for a car tyre in New Zealand is 1.5mm across three-quarters of the tread. Other warning signs that your tyres may need replacing are:
* If your tyre shows signs of ageing (i.e. cracks on the tread or sidewall).
* If your tyre is damaged (i.e. a bulge on the sidewall).
* If you can see abnormal wear (i.e. the centre of the tyre is wearing much quicker than the shoulders).
* If the tyres are not suited to your vehicle (i.e. you are having handling problems).
What happens to my old tyres?
We dispose of your old tyres using carefully selected professional tyre disposal companies. The old tyres are used in a number of different ways: they could be used in road construction, for soft playground coverings or used as fuel - it's a more environmentally friendly option than coal. Easytyre believes that the protection of the environment is a real concern, and we ensure that we dispose of your scrap tyres in the most ecologically and environmentally friendly way available.
Do you offer a breakdown service?
No, Easytyre is not a breakdown or rescue service, so we are unable to change tyres at the roadside on main roads. However, we will always try to assist if we can.
What are your opening hours/fitting times?
We are open 8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, and 8am to 12pm on Saturdays.
Where do you fit tyres?
Our service is currently available in Christchurch, we can fit your new tyres wherever you are, as long as it's a safe environment to do so, including at your home or at work. Just enter your postcode here<https://au.x2framework.com/livex2net/x2net/supertyre/TyreShop> or give us a call to see if we cover your area.
Why don't you offer tyre alignments?
Tyre alignment requires a completely flat surface to enable accurate alignment, and as we come to you, we are unable to guarantee suitability of the location. If you need an alignment, you can book it in with our big brother company, SuperTyre, by clicking here<http://www.supertyre.co.nz/contact-us/>
Do you sell part worn tyres?
No, we don't sell part worn tyres. We sell new tyres from as little as $89.00. A recent TyreSafe investigation found that 98% of part worn tyres were illegal; 16% contained dangerous or unsafe repairs; and 18% contained other potentially lethal forms of damage or non-compliance. If they were called 'part-safe', would you still buy them?
Can you fit low profile tyres?
Yes, we can fit as low as 25 profile tyres. The benefits of low profile tyres are improved performance and appearance. Lower deck heights give the tyres a racing car look, and also make them better at handling corners. Fewer grooves and smaller void areas between the treads are what make low profile tyres as effective as performance tyres. Combined, these features deliver greater lateral stability, improved tread wear and reduced weight.
When will I get a GST invoice?
An invoice will be emailed to you on completion of the job.
Can I cancel my order?
Call our support centre to cancel your order. Orders can be cancelled without incurring a cancellation fee up to the day before your fitting date. Bookings cancelled after this time will incur a cancellation fee of $60.00.
Can I change the fitting time and place?
Yes, you can change the fitting location of your existing booking. Call the support team immediately to make any changes to your booking at least one day prior to your fitting date.
